OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN FOR THE CITY OF BUCARAMANGA

The objective of the public space master plan for the city of Bucaramanga was to structure a system of public spaces that would articulate the natural systems and constituent elements of the main ecological structure such as eastern hills, western escarpments and hydrographic basins, and the elements built as infrastructure. road, amenities, public transport, bike paths and trails. The intention of the plan was to reduce the social gap in the peripheral sectors of the city and increase the access and supply of public spaces of different types to all its inhabitants.

The city has an average rate of 3.62 m² / inhab. An imbalance is identified in the location of existing public spaces. The largest amount of public spaces is concentrated in the communes of the southwest of the city, mainly in commune 9.
