DESIGN STUDIO VIII
This design studio is the first one of two studios that are related to each other. Students start their capstone/thesis project in this semester and finish it in the design studio IX. This semester students are participating in the Saint Gobain student contest 2023. The objective of the Architecture Student Contest is to develop a project based on sustainability, both for people and the planet. The buildings will be highly energy-efficient, low-carbon, and provide a comfortable environment for their occupants, in order to create better living, working and leisure spaces everywhere.
The task of the 18th edition of the international student competition organized by Saint Gobain Group, in close cooperation with the City of Lisbon, is to develop a proposal for the revitalization with public and cultural use of the plot included in the Boavista and used to host several m Landfill urban area, currently belonging to the City Hall municipal services.
DESIGN STUDIO IX
Design studio IX is the continuation of the previous work students do in their design studio VIII. This project was a combination between a student competition and a regular studio. Three groups were participating in the Saint Gobain Student contest Warsaw 2022, additionally we had eight more groups doing a multiplicity of projects going from the design of a school to the urban rehabilitation of a creek in Medellín
The task of the 17th edition of the international student competition organised by Saint-Gobain Group in close cooperation with the City of Warsaw is to develop a vision for the revitalization of the area located next to the Warsaw East (Warszawa Wschodnia) railway station.
The project involved the renovation of an old factory building, which will be used to integrate the local community, as well as the construction of new residential buildings, some of which will be used as private dormitory/apartments for rent by students. The project must be innovative and sustainable and comply with the technical guidelines prepared by Saint-Gobain.
